Ansel K Erol

Architecting the Future of High-Performance Systems

About Me

Nice to meet you! My name is Ansel.

I'm a BS/MS student at Georgia Tech, interested in the challenges of deploying real-time, high-throughput software systems at scale - for analytical, machine learning, and transaction processing workloads. My experience includes software engineering at Google (private ML ad infra), Travelers Insurance (data operations) and research in Distributed Machine Learning, Operations Research/Optimization, and Natural Language Processing. I'm a Board Member and the former Finance Director of People for PSEO; experienced with grant-writing and reporting, non-profit fundraising, budget management, and team communication.

My Journey

A timeline of my professional growth and key contributions.

Software Engineer Intern @ Google

May 2025 – Aug 2025
  • Optimized gRPC networking for a low-latency inference system in C++ that delivers relevant ads without sacrificing user privacy.

Research Assistant @ Georgia Tech

Jan 2024 – Present
  • Scaling machine learning inference capacity on constrained and distributed systems with Dr. Divya Mahajan. Presenter at MLSys YPS and Recipient of President's Undergraduate Research Salary Award.

Software Engineer Intern @ Travelers Insurance

Jun 2024 – Aug 2024
  • Data infrastructure powering dashboard applications: optimized cloud-based relational and non-relational data pipelines while maintaining segregation between ETL, business logic, and front-end layers.

Finance Director & Board Member @ People for PSEO

Sep 2022 – Present
  • Led successful grant and donor initiatives for a MN non-profit organization dedicated to expanding opportunities for dual-enrollment students.
